Catherine

Styled by our Glasgow team, the gorgeous Catherine said “I do” in Rosey Crepe by Made With Love. Her big day took place in August, at The Inn on The Lake in the Lake District.

Tell us a bit about your day!

The day started with a very cold dip in ullswater with some of my close friends. Then we had a fab time getting ready in the bridal suite. I loved wearing my MWL dress and veil and couldn’t wait to put it on.

The ceremony was outside by the lake with my brother as the celebrant. We had all the guests singing Rick Astley in the ceremony which looked great on the video.

At the drinks reception we had a mariachi band from Glasgow who were brilliant. We did an adult pass the parcel at dinner which was very funny. After dinner we surprised our guests with an evening boat trip on the lake. That was one of the highlights of the day. Our evening band were a 6 piece mobile brass band covering 90s dance bangers and they were brilliant. We had the best day!

How did you end up finding 'the one'?

It was a chance visit to the shop with my brother when I found the dress. The girls were absolutely great and showed my dresses I wouldn’t have gone for; one of which ended up being the one.

What did you love about being a The White Collection bride?

I loved that initial appointment you to pick out some dresses -  nowhere else I went to let you do this. The service was outstanding and far better than any other shop I went to (I went to a LOT). The shop itself and the rooms are also absolutely stunning and offer privacy, again far better than anywhere else I went to.

Did you have bridesmaids? How did you involve them in the wedding and how did you decide on their wedding wardrobe?

I had a bride tribe- my 3 brothers and my sister in law as I’m really close to my family. My bridesmaid couldn’t get up to Glasgow as her train was cancelled because of bad weather. The girls at the white collection (Niamh and Kirsty) recognised this had been important to me and made sure to facilitate a FaceTime with her in the main shop where I could get signal.

The boys wore mauve suits in a matching colour to Jen’s dress and my nephew had a tiny baby mauve suit. The florist matched the flowers to the colour scheme incredibly. They were all really involved in the day and had different roles throughout it.

What was your favourite part of the day?

I loved every minute. The ceremony was really special and I loved walking down the aisle to ‘rocket man’ played by our string quartet. I felt so lovely in my dress and veil. The boat was very fun and the video and pictures have been wonderful to look back on.

List of vendors used- is there anyone in particular you want to give a shout out to?

James hicks our photographer was brilliant.

Cat Prescott dowling at CPD films did an incredible job and was so fun on the day.

Our florist- the flower hut- couldn’t have wished for better the flowers were stunning and I couldn’t believe how well she’d done the colour matches.

Kennedy (Kennedy bridal make up)- she was lovely and was super patient at my trial.

Ashley from Greg Malloy hairdressing was fab- a must for any curly haired brides as Ashley knows what she’s doing with curls.

Rapido mariachi were wonderful to deal with throughout and did an incredible job on the day.

Blossom and bows our venue dresser.
