Your Perfect Day bridal shopping in Bristol

Written By The White Collection

The White Collection Bristol, is situated in the picturesque town of Portishead. Portishead is a friendly progressive town that fuses characterful history with modern contemporary. The second largest town in North Somerset, Portishead is right on the coast with stunning views across the Bristol Channel towards Newport and Cardiff, Wales. With an array of shops, bars and restaurants, Portishead is an ideal destination for shopping for your wedding dress, and making a day of it, too. With the added benefit of the amazing line up of designers we stock, such as modern, Australian bridal designers Made With Love and Grace Loves Lace, and the timeless elegance of Rosa Clara and Pronovias, there’s only one place you need to visit to find your perfect gown.

The stylists in Bristol have all got together and put forward their recommendations on where to visit before and after your appointment.

For a coffee and a light bite before your appointment, we recommend Mokoko on the marina. The Marina in Portishead is about a 10 minute walk from The White Collection and offers stunning waterfront views in a tranquil setting. Located in this scenic spot, Mokoko serves fabulous coffee alongside its expertly made Viennoiserie, including croissants and pain au chocolat. With its inviting atmosphere and gorgeous location, Mokoko Portishead is the perfect place to take some time out to prepare for your dress appointment. We really recommend the Almond croissants- they are so gorgeous !!!

After your appointment, we recommend somewhere you can celebrate your yes moment! For cocktails and tapas, Venga Portishead is the place just for you. For an Italian meal paired perfectly with some nice wine, Aqua Portishead is perfect to wind down with some delicious food.

Portishead is only 15 minutes away from the Clifton suspension bridge meaning that if you would like to dine in Clifton, brides can do so easily, and the perfect place to celebrate in style is the Ivy brasserie, Clifton- if you are feeling fancy.

We know store owner Laura may be biased, however, this is what she had to say following the search for her own wedding dress:

“I remember having to travel around London to look for my dress. The stores were all small and only had a select range of dresses in them, meaning that I had to book more than one store to be able to try on different styles. By the end of the day, I didn’t feel like I had the time to really take it all in and enjoy the moment of wedding dress shopping with my favourite people as I was so focused on when my next appointment was, rather than just living in the moment. Being able to visit a store like The White Collection would have been perfect- a store offering all different styles of dresses so I could try enough different styles on to know I had tried enough without being overwhelmed or rubbing the shine off the experience, without having to spend most of my day travelling. Being able to find my dress and then spend the rest of the day celebrating with my loved ones, would have been the icing on the cake”
